Vorstellung
- Location: the Sursee area, so it would probably be the most convenient for the babysitter to be close to this area. If they want to commute further, it’s not a problem for us.
- We live in Geuensee, postcode 6232
- Time / day needed:
- At a minimum, late afternoon to evening coverage.
- Days: weekdays only; Monday to Friday
- From 17:00pm to 21:00pm (flexibility would be great, ie can be there until 22:00 or later)
- Would be great if they can occasionally do overnight stays. We
have a spare guest bedroom.
Must-do tasks include:
- Speak English and German
- Feeding dinner to the kids: ideally someone who can cook at least some easy dishes, or even preheating ready-made products. Typical dishes can include:
- Boiling: pasta, rice
- Toasting and cutting bread
- Basic use of the stove: making eggs / omelets, steaming or cooking
fresh vegetables, light frying (sausages, fresh meat, etc.)
- Basic heating in oven: cooking cordon bleu (pre-made from Coop),
frozen fish fingers (pre-made from Coop), frozen pre-made fries
- Help and supervision of homework is needed
- Preparation and supervision for bedtime (shower, brushing teeth, choosing clothes for the next day, etc.)
- If there is some time between dinner and bedtime, please either let them play or make them read / do extra learning activities
- Post bedtime: stay in the house until the parents are back
Good to have's:
- Able to drive: This is almost a must-have. Although if you do not drive you must at least be able to get around with the bus. For example, if occasionally you need to travel by bus / train to Luzern with the kids
-Children’s item organization:
-Tidying up jackets upstairs, shoes upstairs, both by the front door
-Books, toys, painting / drawing stuff, etc
- Laundry: Find time to do the children’s laundry on a weekly (or 2x per week max needed) basis. Both washing and folding. No ironing or line drying needed
-Educational assistance:
11 year old: making sure she completes ALL of her homework
- Encouraging her to do more
- Help her practice German: writing and grammar mostly
- Math practice
5 year old: basic numbers, reading and writing
- Kindergarten level learning activities
- Drawing
- Playing
