Hi! My name is Diego and I would describe myself as light-hearted with a great sense of humour. I'm a very active person so I'm up for whatever and I would say that's why I'm good with kids. I love playing sports, video games, board games or the occasional hide-and-seek as well as watching movies or YouTube videos. I will also gladly assist with any household chore the family need and the kids with any homework they have.

My family is originally from Venezuela and Spain, so I have dual nationality. I was born in Caracas, Venezuela, but due to my country's situation I have lived in other places, including Bogotá (Colombia), Quito (Ecuador), Murcia (Spain) and, finally, Madrid (Spain), where I currently live. I got my bachelor's degree in Social Communications from the Central University of Venezuela in 2019 before earning a master's degree in Sports Journalism from the European University of Madrid in 2020.

I'm currently working as an Au Pair in Zurich for a family of three (mom and two kids aged 4 and 9). I work four days a week from 6am to 7pm cooking the three meals, assisting the kids in care and entertainment and driving the family everywhere.

I worked one year as a volunteer at FUNDANA in Caracas. FUNDANA is a foundation for abandoned and abused low-income Venezuelan children. There, I assisted these kids with school homework, care, and entertainment. Furthermore, I have experience in taking care of my little brother, my cousins (I'm the oldest) and kids from family friends. On a more personal note, I had a girlfriend who was a mom and her kid would usually be around wherever we went. She worked during the weekends so he would spend many of those days with me. We would go the park or just stay at home playing and watching movies or YouTube videos.

My native language is Spanish but I'm fluent in English as well. I learned it while studying at the Colegio Internacional de Bogotá, a bilingual school in Bogotá, Colombia, where I lived for two years.

I'm also able to read French and understand some of it when being spoken to. Similar, though in a lesser extent, with Italian and Portuguese. Apart from Venezuela, I've lived in Colombia, Ecuador and, now, Spain. I've also visited the United States, Argentina, Chile, Portugal, France and Greece.

A big-time cinephile, I'm usually watching movies and series when at home. I regularly go the gym and I am a huge football/soccer fan.

I expect this experience, wherever it may be, will be as rewarding for me as for the family and the kids. Most importantly, I hope to connect with them so I can be of help and have a lot of fun together. Besides this, one of the things I love the most is travelling and discovering new places as well as meeting new people and cultures. This is also an experience that could lead to many other interesting opportunities so I'm really looking forward to it.
