Dear Families,

My name is Sarah. I’m 30 years old and have just recently moved to Zürich and now hold a B Permit with gainful employment.

In winter last year, I worked for a German/Russian family as a babysitter to a five-month-old here in Zürich. Just recently, I have finished babysitting an adorable 7-month-old whose family is from the USA. My last employment was with three children whose family only stayed here in Zürich til August 20th for Summer holidays. Although those are my only childcare experience, I am very well acquainted with children, since I am a mother myself and have raised a child (single-handedly) who is now turning twelve in September. I have also been part of many outreach programs back home which involve helping out kids in various ways to learn. Some of the organizations I have helped in are: Childhope Asia Philippines Inc. (An org to help street children become productive citizens), Children’s Joy Foundation Inc.(An org that help abandoned and neglected children recover and get proper education), Tahanang Walang Hagdan Inc.(Rehabilitation and Skills training center dedicated to helping people with disabilities become productive).

I was born and raised in Manila, Philippines. For over eight years, I have worked as a corporate trainer in different global companies (teaching Business English and Skills/Talent Development Training). English and Tagalog are my mother tongue (I am bilingual), while my German is on B1 level. I can follow simple conversations in Swiss-German and I am also familiar with many Spanish words, since we Filipinos still use many of them in our daily household.

I am very fond of kids and I am confident to say that kids love me. I am a woman of many hobbies and an advocate of healthy living. My interests include music (I play the guitar, Ukulele, Percussions, the lyre and Piano), arts, sports (mostly boardsports – skateboard, wakeboard, surfing; fitness & high intensity training, and chess – family sport), languages, gardening, as well as travelling, writing, and teaching. I am a people person. I am passionate about meeting different people, learning about diverse cultures, and can blend perfectly well in a multi-cultural environment.

I am keen to help families, as I know how challenging it is juggling between one’s career and taking care of kids and meeting the family’s needs. Moreover, I understand the struggle a lot of modern families face day by day and I am highly motivated to offer my childcare skills and expertise, which I have learned myself through personal experience.
