I have a warm and caring personality with a wide-ranging experience of working with children, as a nanny in Surrey (looking after a 2 year old girl), in the USA (looking after a 6 month old baby girl), in Zurich (boys aged 3 & 9), Istanbul (an 11 month old girl) and as an English/French bilingual nanny in London (looking after a 4 year old boy & 6 year old girl). I taught children to ride on summer camps in the USA, Canada and North Wales. I also worked as a special welfare assistant in a North London primary school for 3 years, looking after children with behavioural problems (employed by the London Borough of Barnet), and was a volunteer with Riding for the Disabled Association classes for autistic children at the Royal Mews (weekly sessions for 4 years). I also looked after a boy with autism and physical disabilities in London and Brighton, and worked as an assistant houseparent in a top international boarding school near York. My bilingual nanny job in London (Ealing) has just been terminated after my employers decided to employ their own niece as an au pair.

I am well versed in all aspects of child rearing (physical, emotional and intellectual development; the importance of a healthy diet; help with homework and foreign languages, etc.). I know how to keep children happy, interested and motivated, and that they learn much faster when they are having fun. I enjoy singing nursery rhymes, doing arts & crafts and taking children to parks, museums and the library, etc. I am an avid reader and shared my passion for books with my own son from an early age. He is now 30, with a brilliant academic career behind him.

I also worked in a London bookshop for 4 years and as an assistant to diplomats at the Embassy of Japan in London for 12 years.

I am a non-smoker, have a clean, valid UK driving licence, a recent enhanced British DBS and Swiss CRB & First Aid Certificate, as well as excellent references.
