Dear family,

I am a 38 years old, Brazilian woman who has been a pre-school teacher in Brazil, an au pair and nanny for almost three years in the USA and a nanny for 17 months in New Zealand. I also had my own brain training school in Brazil for five years and right now I work as an English tutor for pre-teens, teenagers and adults in Brazil.
Children has always been my passion in life. I miss working with them, so that is one of the reasons why I’ve decided to apply for a job opportunity in Switzerland. This way I can get back working with children and also having the chance to travel and get to know, what is for me, one of the most beautiful countries in the world.
My experiences abroad were the most important and unforgettable in my life. In the USA I had the opportunity to work for four different families. In each of them I got to learn and develop my skills with children ranging from zero to eleven years old. In New Zealand I took care of two girls that were 2 and 4 years old at the time.
It’s with lots of tenderness that I recall the many times I took the children to playgrounds, to museums, to parks, to the shopping center, to pick nicks, to play in the snow, to play in the sand pits, the library, for playdates, to the beach, to play pretending, spider’s cave (a game we would do it at home in a dark room), to play “the fort” ( a game in which we would build a shelter with sheets), to make and play with our own playdough, to play in the swimming pool, to play tea party, to splash puddles, to play fairies, to paint, to draw, to ride bicycles, to music class, to da Wow, so many nice and good activities. I used to have so much fun and I miss that so much. We were always doing something different. I would learn so much with them and they would learn with me.
Back in Brazil I opened a business in partnership with my sister. In this period my students would range from six to eighty three years old. We would work with brain training and that was my opportunity to develop a little knowledge about the brain and how it learns. The classes from this school were really fun. I would teach the students how to work with the abacus (a millenary calculator), we would do sudoku, kakuro, crosswords, just to name a few. I would also play many different board game, which I personally love it.
Of course in between all of that fun I would also care for the children’s health and wellbeing. Cooking and feeding them a healthy and proper meal (according to the parents standards), driving them safely to school and other social activities, giving them a shower or a bath, making sure they would properly brush their teeth, helping them to get dressed or undressed, changing their diapers, potty training, taking them to the potty, take them to bed and even taking care of them when their parents were away for the weekend.
All those experiences thought me that it is especially important to have an open and honest relationship with their parents. So, I believe that for me one of the most important thing is that I can have a good relationship with the parents and consequently a harmonious and respectful relationship with the kids.
