Andrea, nourrice à domicile à Genève 1200

I grew up in little village in the Czech Republic. My father left when I was six so it was only me, my mom and my sister. My mom is a preschool teacher and so is my younger sister. I think it somehow runs in our family. Later on my mom found a new partner. They have one little girl together. She is 11 years old right now. I also have brother and sister from my father's side but we are not in touch. While studying at high school I mostly lived with my grandfather in his beautiful house. I try to visit him as much as possible.

I left Czech Republic right after finishing high school. I studied ESL at College of Marin, finished aupair school in New York including the American Red Cross training. I took American sign language classes. I also took some courses about childhood education and children's behavior.

I play piano since I was six, I dance and I also sing. I enjoy being outside and exploring new places and cultures. I love all kinds of art, museums, theater and good movies. (I am also a big Disney fan)

In the past 7 years I have had 5 host families. I stayed one year in London. I took care of three children. (0, 2 and 4 years old). Then I moved to California and I stayed with the same family for 2 years. They also had three children. (2, 5, 9 years old). My next host family was in Sweden. They also had three children but older. (9, 12 and 15). I stayed for 6 months and then I moved to Switzerland. In my "Geneva host family" I took care of one little boy. He was 8 months old when I started. I stayed with him for one year. After that I moved to France but only few minutes away from Geneva so I stayed at the area. I take care of two girls. They are 8 and 10.
I worked with children in the Czech Republic too. One family had three children (1, 6 and 9 years old) and my other family had only one baby girl. She was 1 year old when I started working with her. I also teach in Czech school without borders in Geneva every Wednesday afternoon.

My native languages are czech and slovak. My mom is from Czech Republic and my father from Slovakia. I am very comfortable with English and I also study French. (level A2) but my goal is to have B1 certificate before Christmas. I am very good at learning languages so I can catch up very quickly.

As I already said I come from a family of teachers. But I prefer working for one family. I think it's easier to bond with children that way. As an nanny I can really get to know the kids. Teach them something and also learn something from them.

I would like find a family that I can be myself around. I think it's important to be honest and open minded.
